Transfer

In a world where humans can trade bodies as easily as clothes, what happens when there are criminals? Do they disappear, or just get clever? And what happens when someone ends up with their face?

Aoe is new to life, an infant in many ways but body. And zheir face is the most wanted in the world, but only the authorities know it. When Aoe is barely three years into zheir new life they get a visit from the authorities that shakes zhem. Against their own laws, they want zhem to change bodies before they are allowed but won't say why. And every month strangers begin approaching them, asking about the body zhey wear; where did zhey get it, was it a used body, do they have plans on choosing a new body when zhey come of age for it? They act too interested, and the authorities are pressing closer and closer but no one is answering any of zheir questions despite asking more and more of their own.

So Aoe must find a way to leave the body behind before zheir allowed but feels that giving it to the authorities, or the curious strangers who all seem to act the same despite wearing different faces, would be a bad move. But where, and who, can zhey get a new face, or at least find the answers to why shady strangers, insistent authorities, and overly curious but closed minds are so interested in the body zhey wear?

Morphoids - humanoid bodies stretched to their limits: extra set of arms, demon horns or magnetic halos, unnatural skin or eye colors, unnaturally tall or short but proportioned correctly, and any other extreme body modifications that are not found among Humoids but do not border into being animals. Usually charges through a port at the back of their head, and rarely eat food like true humans.

Humans - true humans, breed naturally, have natural life spans, numbers are kept controlled but live in luxury and no more than 1000 are alive at any point; all are kept in a special city found somewhere in the North American Mountains but the location is kept secret from most people for safety.
